I understand your point, I couldn't afford many of these programs when I was younger. Now I prefer buying software because it's much easier—no more troubles with installation or getting the right key. Even if it's free, it's better than dealing with issues.
Approximately two years ago, I purchased Windows 7 Pro legally. The reason was that it’s the program I rely on most and I think it’s a good investment. I’m glad Windows 10 is now free for me, but I wouldn’t have hesitated to upgrade if needed.
Essentially, just take it and use it. The information comes from MSDN and isn't intended for distribution or reuse. It should work properly as long as the system remains active, though it might stop if all accounts are flagged. Activators should also function without issues.
