Your Windows license is about to expire soon.
Your Windows license is about to expire soon.
Using slmgr /xpr retrieves information, while slmgr /dli displays details like "VOLUME_KMSCLIENT channel" in the description.
Your Windows was set up using a volume license, not a retail key. If the repair shop activated it for you, they likely used a volume license key rather than a retail/OEM key. Obtain a fresh retail license key and in the activation menu shown in your screenshot, select "Change" and enter the new key to activate with a retail license. The license will then become a permanent retail key. Your files remain safe.
alright thanks i spoke to my dad now (who took it to the repair store) and he said he didnt pay for a windows license. im guessing now the volume license that they used is expiring now? one more thing before i mark as solved, i origonally had windows 10 but im using windows insider to use windows 11 (dev channel) should i get a windows 10 license then do the whole insider thing again or can i get a windows 11 license?
I really don't understand. I've avoided Windows 11 as much as possible. It might be wise to explore it before buying a new license. Someone else may have more details to share.
The keys I possess are MAK, possibly explaining why I haven't noticed any expiration dates.
