Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing well. I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my Windows 10. It started with a BSOD when the PC began showing a memory management error, followed by another one. I'm not sure what the messages said, but the main issue is that when I accessed the C drive, anything I did seemed to vanish after a reboot or shutdown. For instance, after downloading software, it would be saved in the Downloads folder on the C drive, but when I rebooted or shut it down, it disappeared. However, when I logged out of my account, the settings were saved without needing a reboot or shutdown. I'm feeling a bit anxious about this and want to reinstall Windows via USB, but it won't install on the C drive and I can't delete the partition. One report mentioned the disk might fail soon. Could this be related to my SSD or somewhere else? Anyone have similar experiences? Thanks in advance. P.S.: I ran a S.M.A.R.T check on my SSD, and it looks healthy. Please test it too if you have any advice. - Lotrbee

Is this related to GoodRam SSD? I experienced a peculiar issue once—it seemed to be an SSD-related problem, possibly with the controller. After restarting, no changes appeared. Look into the Device Manager to see the drive name; the system might cache file information, but this needs updating on the drive itself. All data exists, but failing to update is like deleting an NTFS pendrive during a save—your work disappears.

It's V-Gen SSD, tech reviewers said that it's chip is from samsung, but it was manufactured in Indonesia, the country I live in. So supposed to say it's Korean brand, kinda good because it has been selling around 20years in here but not as great as WD or Adata perhaps. I bought bcoz of bugdet My drivers are fine btw, it's all updated and no yellow mark on it.

I started by unplugging the SATA cable and connecting it to another port. Done! It’s functioning properly now, and it even speeds up slightly when copying files. Likely the issue is with the SATA port or maybe the cable isn’t securely fastened. Edited September 10, 2020 by Lotrbee

I understand, I mistakenly thought it was about a driver. I'll review it later. It still offers a 3-year replacement warranty if any issues arise again, so you're safe. Appreciate the guidance, sir.

Just a note: Hello homeap5, the issue resurfaced as expected. Right now I'm attempting to install Windows 8.1 that I downloaded via DVD, and suddenly it works. I can now remove the partition on the C drive, which is great! The warning about the disk failing soon has disappeared. I'm proceeding with the installation now, and after it's done, I'll run a chkdsk to check for any errors. (There was an error before on Windows 10, but I can't fix it due to rebooting issues.) I hope wiping the partition clears any remaining problems. Edited September 11, 2020 by Lotrbee

It might start anew when you begin using your device. We'll watch.

It's been a while now and you're correct, my PC keeps crashing with "memory_management." It seems to happen especially when I play heavy modded games. After installing over 200 mods for Skyrim, it crashed within minutes. With the game running heavy mods, it also failed. I reduced the number of mods to just essential ones and everything worked smoothly again. The main issue appears to be excessive memory usage from the software or games I use, which overwhelms my system. I found many articles discussing Skyrim mods and other games causing BSOD, and several people reported similar problems. That's resolved now.
