I realized some updates aren’t compatible anymore, so I created a backup using Windows Media Creation Tool. Still facing issues when trying to boot from the USB—driver errors and reset failures. I can’t even perform a factory reset now. After about an hour, I hit a “Something wrong” message. I’m eager to start over with Windows on my new SSD but am stuck removing the old version. Could anyone suggest a way to begin fresh?

USB 2.0 stick connected via a USB 2.0 port, created using a media creation utility. If the BIOS doesn't allow direct boot, the problem isn't related to the previous installation.

What operating system are you using? I noticed problems with W7 where a fresh install via USB often fails. The only solution I found online is MSI's "fast start" app that installs a driver, though I'm unsure if this applies specifically to NVMe M.2 drives. That note seems accurate.

I apologize for the delay in responding. I resolved my problem by using Media Creation Tool twice—once to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 10 again, and once more to create a Boot USB with a 3.0 port. After installing Windows, I followed similar steps to generate the USB. The original Windows had no driver issues during the first install, but the new version worked smoothly without those problems. My HDD kept booting even after the upgrade, so I ensured only the SSD and USB were connected. The main challenge was formatting the SSD to GPT instead of MBR, which I fixed using diskpart in CMD Prompt during installation. Thank you both for your help—it really made a difference.
