The most recent 1809 update for Windows 10 introduced several issues for me as well. My advice is to revert to Windows 8, which resolved the problems. If you must remain on Windows 10, open Task Manager—details available—and investigate what’s stressing your laptop. You might also consider turning off all Windows update notifications.
