Last week my Wi-Fi on my desktop was really slow. I use a Wi-Fi adapter since my modem is upstairs and I don’t want to buy a long Ethernet cable just yet. My speed test showed poor performance, but my phone’s download and upload speeds are normal. I’m confused about what’s going on. Anyone can help?

Are you running a 5GHz network? A 2.4GHz might work better for you, especially over longer distances—this resolved the speed problems I had with my Wi-Fi.

I don't have a direct connection to the router. My speeds depend on the network and device settings.
