I'm using the router delivered by Deutsche Telekom to my girlfriend's place. It usually works fine, but I'm facing some issues. The Wi-Fi is really poor. My FritzBox at home performs better, though it's not ideal. Next time I'll opt for a cheaper modem and something more reliable. Don't stress too much—since we've been laying cables around the house, a wired connection will likely appear soon in many rooms. Now, regarding my PC: I ran a speed test after swapping its motherboard (needed an update) to a MSI B450i Plus Max for Wi-Fi. I bought it used at a similar price to a decent Wi-Fi card. My old USB-WiFi was too slow for basic tasks like searching the web. That was definitely better, and everything on my network now seems normal. Here (my girlfriend's) connection is around 17 downloads and about 36 uploads... What a mess!
Excellent link. 100 megabits per second down, 50 up. The wall connection is very reliable.
Are you experiencing Wi-Fi problems and is your computer located in the same space as the router or modem?
Approximately 8 meters in length, featuring two walls. No restroom, no plumbing, no metal, nothing else. Only two walls.
Ensure the latest drivers are installed for your Wi-Fi adapter.
We’re making updates and there are some boxes along the hallway. One held the new fridge (not my home and I didn’t know about it). Moving it helped the Wi-Fi a lot. We also discovered in another room they installed unusual metal studs across the entire height of certain walls. Since this house is made of brick, I’m not sure why that was done. It might be an issue that can’t be fixed. Thanks for the info!
