Hello everyone, I recently bought this game after seeing some decent reviews on it and having enjoyed to first one. Am I the only one that is heavily dissapointed? The graphics look great, altough the problem is that on my setup (6700k, 1070 etc.) the game will only reach 60fps on "high" settings in 1440p. For a game that looks only marginally better than GTA V (imo), I am not satisfied at all with the performance. The controls/gameplay is the worst part about it though. I am not sure how a game like this could get vehicle physics so wrong, but they sure as hell tried. Even the fastest cars only go about 60mph and then the camera starts shaking for dramatic effect... Not to mention that every car looks like it has blown up clown-tires as wheels. I don't remember the physics in the first one being that bad -> and I thought I read somewhere that they "significantly" improved upon that point? I have been playing for an hour and honestly I don't see myself playing again any time soon -> the story doesn't grip me at all and the physics just make me get angry. I could have spent those €40 on booze and would have definitely had more fun. #dropsmic
I wouldn't say I'm deeply disappointed or extremely impressed. The quality isn't great, but it seems noticeably improved compared to GTA. I haven't really delved into the story because I've only played a few hours of free roam. The driving feels average. Still, it's enjoyable since I've visited San Francisco a couple of times and it's interesting to see in real life.
i am not that disappointed with the game. i actually enjoyed it. but honestly it's not that great of a game. you should try Temporal filtering. using it doubles the frames. you're not alone. Watch dogs 2 is very heavy on the CPU vehicle physics are a tad better compared to the first game, but it hasn't improved in the slightest. if anything it is how the paint shines.. looks terrible IMO. yeah you should have probably spent the money on booze i've spent 30hrs with the game. the story is pretty good halfway through, but then it gets repetitive at the latter half. and when you're done with the story, there's little to nothing to do.. however the world is pretty compelling and surprisingly detailed, much livelier than the first game. i give Ubisoft dibs for that
If a 6700K with 4.6GHz overclocking struggles, consider alternatives or adjustments.
Personally GTA V appears more polished than WD2, which seems a bit exaggerated in its cartoon style, especially with the colorful touches of COD IF. The game offers better optimization, making it a more satisfying experience overall. If GTA V had a strong single-player campaign like the original, it would be even more appealing. I’ve only played through a few sessions with a friend and don’t own the game, so my impressions are limited. While I don’t think it’s worth the price tag, the main characters seem less problematic compared to what I’ve seen.
