Hey there! I hope everyone is doing fine. I wanted to address the issue with the 7700x overheating at high temperatures, even though it's built to handle that. I followed the undervolting guide from the tutorial you linked and made the changes in the BIOS. In the image, you can see the adjustments I made to the voltage settings—I set the magnitude to 10 because stability wasn't consistent back then (a 30 was too risky). I'm really interested in hearing your thoughts on this. Is this approach solid? Could it affect the CPU's lifespan? Might it cause problems with other parts like cooling? Thanks in advance for your feedback, and have a great day!

Lowering the voltage on the CPU can theoretically extend its life, though the impact will likely be minimal. In most cases, CPUs remain functional for many years beyond typical usage before needing replacement. No. While too low a voltage may cause instability or frequent crashes, the chance of serious long-term hardware harm is almost nonexistent. Just raise the voltage back until performance returns to normal.

Okay ! That reassures me, IT guy told me to leave it as default (as it should run normally) but seeing my 7700x running too hot was making me sweat in every senses haha (even though they have been designed to pump heat for max performances). Do you have an opinion on the values i put for the undervolt (in the picture) by any chances ? Like i said i followed the tutorial and tweaked the tdp and magnitude but other than those values displayed in the picture i touched nothing else haha Thank you again for your answers =)

Uh oh, unusual temperatures—like the 50-70 range you remember while online or working. That’s typical for a 7700X, but honestly it feels a bit too warm for my liking.

Your 7700x handled -30 all day and 83c gaming at 5.5ghz across all cores. It's unclear why you're facing problems with the manufacturer's specs, but heat is relative and the chip can last a long time. Adjust voltage and temperature limits as you see fit.

It's understandable to question the settings you used. I followed the guide closely, focusing only on the visuals, but it's good to double-check if the values match expectations.

You can easily restore the original stock settings by undoing the changes you made, which should bring everything back to its default state.

Usually I switch to Optimized Defaults when I need to return to stock, though reversing those changes also helps. The 7700x adjustment really performs well and ranks high in the list. Excellent CPU!
