Windows Defender functions as an antivirus, and its effectiveness diminishes when another program is active. This suggests it may be among the less desirable options available for protection. In practice, users often rely on outdated beliefs about antivirus software, sometimes repeating misconceptions without considering current realities. The challenge lies in determining which solution offers better security and performance, a decision that requires careful evaluation rather than simple assumptions.

I get what you mean. When I said antivirus, I was talking about third-party options like McAfee, Norton, and similar programs that consume system resources. Honestly, I don’t see the point of any antivirus these days. Even Bitdefender, which only alerts me to false positives, isn’t really helpful. Right now, avoiding pirated software should keep you safe.

From my perspective, it uses significantly fewer resources. Generally it works well, unless you have a tendency to add unnecessary or unreliable software. It makes no sense to spend money on another antivirus when the built-in one suffices. It's not dangerous, just somewhat ineffective.

You don't necessarily require Bitdefender Free Antivirus.
