You can turn off the antivirus, and Google actually uses a lot of memory regardless. Even with both Google and Bitdefender on, it doesn’t reduce usage by half. Windows also consumes some RAM too.

Disabling Bitdefender antivirus raises security concerns. Are you sure this is necessary?

No, it serves no purpose, in reality all antivirus software do.

Windows only clears your RAM when necessary. Do you really have memory problems? Otherwise, everything seems fine.

Maybe I was curious about when the RAM usage reached half capacity.

Chrome and Bitdefender already consume a significant portion of your storage. Windows adds more, often requiring over 2GB. This means you're losing about half your available space.

Windows Defender covers everything. I removed the antivirus from my and my two sisters’ computers, and they’re all functioning properly. The RAM consumption is typical. My laptop also consumes a similar amount of memory.

Anti Virus is likely one of the least beneficial programs you can add to a PC. It often consumes large amounts of resources without offering meaningful benefits. Windows Defender should suffice.

Sure, I understand. It can be a bit inconsistent sometimes, but I’ve found Bitdefender Free works well without much RAM usage. Are you completely confident Windows Defender covers your needs?
