Hello, I recently encountered an issue with my RAM. I have 32GB installed, but only 16GB is being used while the other 16GB remains reserved for hardware. I've tried several online solutions such as adjusting boot settings, ensuring Windows is updated, and even performing a fresh installation. None of these steps resolved the problem. I've attached some images to illustrate my situation and the actions I've taken. If you have any advice or know how to fix this, please let me know Smile

Disconnect the device. Take out one module of memory. Reset the internal settings. Restart the machine. Reconnect the RAM. Reset the internal settings again. Restart once more.

I’ve tried that and now the system will not boot. I have a DRAM light on the motherboard with no image. I’m not sure if the RAM is faulty but it was fine the other day.

I analyzed and summarized the task at hand. Then, I provided a clear description of the actions taken to address it. Finally, I ensured the response was concise and focused on the key points.

I disconnected the power and removed the final RAM module, DIMM slot 4. I pressed the clear CMOS button while holding it down. After reconnecting and turning it on, I powered it off and unplugged it again. Then I reinserted the stick and pressed the clear CMOS button once more before restarting the system. Now it’s booting successfully and using only 74 MB for hardware. I’m puzzled about this usage. I haven’t reinstalled the remaining three yet.

Test with two RAM modules placed in the second and fourth slots. Ensure they are securely fastened by applying pressure until you hear a click or see the clips fully engage.

I’ve added the second version and it started up successfully. But it’s consuming 8.1GB of storage while only using 16GB total. I don’t understand why this is happening.

Ensure CMOS is reset before altering the RAM settings. Repeatedly clear CMOS if needed.

You have a Ryzen 5 2600x running on an MSI Tomahawk B450 Pro Max 2. The system uses 4x8GB of 3200 MHz RAM from 3200 HyperX Predator modules.
