Avoid restarting your device daily to remove unused memory space. Java remains relevant despite recent exploits—responsibility lies with you. If assistance is needed, refrain from using Java when updates are available; consider rebooting or installing patches via a browser like IE. Confirm whether your machine is a desktop or laptop. For laptops, consider buying a damaged unit from online marketplaces and extracting the RAM (often more affordable than replacing it).

An HTPC had unstable memory issues recently (an old PC, someone who still pays attention). It ran a Dual 1.6Ghz APU with 1GB DDR3 at 1333Mhz (256MB shared for VRAM) for W7+ tasks – performance was terrible.
