Hello, Here is an issue no one had before. No such similar issue I am able to find anywhere. Please note this is the first time I use AMD card since 2015, I am not familiar with their current quirks. Full specs can be found here: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/106496867 Issue: After installing a new video card (7900xt phantom gaming white oc) on my current computer after installing the AMD video drivers 24.1.1 all seem okay. But after I restart I get this message - "Your hardware settings have changed. Please reboot your computer for this changes to take effect." In the notifications I see that is installing a Pci Bus . At that point if I open Adrenalin > Tuning > SAM > says is not available. I restart I get the message Your hardware settings have changed a second time - at that point if I open Adrenalin SAM is Enabled there. (If i restart a 3rd time, no message appears anymore) - in all cases all seem fine except the received message about needing to restart for "new hardware". Details below: Full video of the issue: Edit: forgot to mention after restarting for the first time, on Windows Login screen, the PC hangs (loses connection to internet/mouse and keyboard turn off for a few seconds - 4 min 40s mark in the video, when the keyboard turns off the backlight at the login screen). This hang does not happen when I try to install the older 23.12.1 drivers, since the message appears right after the installation of the drivers here. After testing in different games I notice a lot of stutters or shader stutters(?). The games I tested and I can test on are Control, Last of Us Part 1 (precompiled shaders), Lords of the Fallen (precompiled, UE5), Baldur's Gate 3, Lies of P (precompiled), The Long Dark (very lightweight unity title), Alan Wake 2. Examples: However for example I test TLOU part 1 and even after compiling everything, and running the same course couple of times (I will add videos later), I still have stutters and frame time jitter - 1% lows drop - so it does not seem normal. (previous card was NV and resize bar was on and had no similar stutter issues, and was with stable frames). Here example of Control, where there is no shader caching starting the game for the firs time after Video Driver install: (Second part of the video shows that is smoother, once most things have happened, but still a lot of frametime spikes) TLOU Stutters with SAM on: (specially when standing still) TLOU No stutters when SAM is off in BIOS: When the dips happen it loses power to both the Videocard and the CPU (sorry forgot to put arrow on the CPU utilization). This pic is from TLOU with SAM on: With more troubleshooting, I find out that if AMD video drivers are already installed, and I go to BIOS and stop SAM, restart, then I go to BIOS again and enable SAM and reach Windows again, I will again see the "Your hardware settings have changed. Please reboot your computer for this changes to take effect." message every time I reach Windows. This is repeatable every time. Things I've tried to fix the message: Use really old chipset drivers from asus site, last known chipset drivers from asus, last chipset drivers from AMD site. Updating BIOS to latest version. TUF GAMING B550-PLUS WIFI II BIOS 3405 Version 3405 16.14 MB 2024/01/08 Installing on a new drive a fresh Windows copy with just chipset drivers, then restart, then Adrenalin. Installing just video drivers without Adrenalin. Installing older 23.12.1 drivers - here I get the "Your hardware settings have changed." message after the drivers finish installing (instead after the reboot like with 24.1.1). After the reboot, no second message appears. Things I've tried to fix the stutters without fixing the message: turn off all options like anti-lag, surface format optimizaion, vsync in Adrenalin/Windows/Games turn of ftpm - is not fTPM stutters, I already have fTPM and the new bitlocker cpu check option turned off in bios (Erase fTPM NV for factory reset - Disabled) Few notes: I have used DDU under Safe mode, in order to clean the previous drivers. Tried also cleaning video drivers with the AMD clean utility, when reinstalling the drivers. Windows 10 22h2 is updated to the latest version, but also tried on Windows 10 not updated to the latest version. DISM-sfc /scannow, chkdsk all return no issues. The computer has run with no issues until now, no complaints. The PC is powered by Seasonic Vertex 1000 gold with 2 separate 8-pin cables for the videocard. If I disable resize BAR/SAM in BIOS I have absolutely no stutters, games run very good. (see above video comparison) Can someone please explain what is causing this message to appear - is it a hardware problem- broken CPU, MB? An AMD driver issues? Some freak incompatibility with the parts? What is this Pci Bus that is installing and why does it cause so much stutters? Any fix for them without disabling SAM? From what I see the issue occurs after I install the AMD drivers and only if SAM is active in bios, so is the video driver or chipset drivers the problem? Corrupted BIOS? Although I also think is unlikely since the issue also occurred before I update to the latest BIOS, so same issue on two different BIOSes. Let me know if you need further info on something and thanks for any advice.

AMD systems may encounter odd issues without the correct chipset driver. It could help to explore different versions from AMD's site. B550 drivers and support are available, suggesting a potential Windows/driver problem rather than hardware faults. Chipset drivers often cause such complications, though a clean Windows install might resolve it.

Hello, I've tested both solutions. Used the very old ASUS options and the AMD Chipset driver 3.10.22.706 for Windows 10/11 64-bit. Also tried the newest from ASUS and AMD, driver V4.07.13.2243 for Windows 10/11 64-bit. Finally, AMD site's latest AMD Chipset Drivers Revision 5.08.02.027, but the same problems persisted.

I also attempted a clean Windows setup on a new hard drive, installing the operating system and adding 5.08.02.027 drivers from the AMD website. After restarting, I ran the installer for Adrenalin 24.1.1 and restarted again, but the same error message persisted.

I was completely surprised by the response I received from Asus support.
