You’ve got a decent connection but are experiencing lag in games. There might be ways to improve it—checking for driver updates, adjusting network settings, or using a wired connection if possible could help.

Speed metrics aren't the main concern. Look at ping, which shows delay. Start with a wired connection first. Basic WiFi performs poorly for latency.

I’d prefer Ethernet, but if not available, a Wi-Fi USB dongle might be a viable alternative. It could perform better than the built-in card.

It would be worse. The preinstalled card would most likely be PCIe or at worst PCI based which would be far better than USB solutions. There isn't much incentive to make a really good USB WiFi adapter and USB in general isn't an ideal interface for such an application.

Take pleasure in this unpredictable online experience, or attempt to switch your Wi-Fi to unused channels and see if it makes any difference. Speed checks usually point to locations very near you and fail to show actual performance or delay. It will likely be even worse now since the connection must go through a tighter data link like USB rather than PCIe.

It appears to be a Realtek RTL8821CE chipset, likely M.2 based. A stronger antenna might improve connectivity, though the exact antenna type isn't specified. The provided ASUS device lacks a visible model number.

Ensure the signal is robust and steady. You might want to check or upgrade the drivers for your Wi-Fi card. Consider switching to a higher-quality one if needed.

Have you considered what you're seeking in your search? For an AMD setup, let me know what you need and I can suggest relevant options.

The adapter uses one spatial stream, which may result in lower performance compared to a version with two streams. Most Intel adapters have a minimum size of 2x2, like the AX200. A fresh wireless adapter doesn't always boost speed, particularly if your router settings aren't optimized or interference is high. The new device will still face similar issues. Check the laptop's design to see the card's dimensions and antenna ports. I'm examining the Realtek model you referenced—it’s a standard M.2 unit with A and E buttons, but only supports one antenna (1x1). If you have an additional pigtail connector for the WiFi antennas, the AX200 should function properly. Otherwise, it won’t meet the 2x2 requirement and you’ll encounter comparable problems.

The setup should function properly on your ASUS A320M board. It may also be compatible with your AMD system.
