I use fan control to adjust speeds and see that my set speeds are being ignored. It also prevents lowering the speed below 30% (1000rpm), which isn't an issue. For instance, in Cyberpunk the card switches from FanControll to full speed and back repeatedly. Specs include Ryzen 7 7800X3D TUF GAMING B650-PLUS with RTX 4070Ti, BIOS version 12.04.24, and I've attached the GPU model.

The system includes logic from Nvidia to bypass third-party fan adjustments depending on temperature readings. I’d investigate which component is triggering this issue.

this never occurred to me except once when I used the "nvidia overlay." it actually took over my afterburner settings. meaning zero fan speed even near 80°C+—never again. luckily I caught it while I was away, and games ran in the background. i think it’s either fancontrol having a bug, the nvidia app being faulty, or the override system activating because the fan curves aren’t right. here’s the simple fix: uninstall fancontrol, don’t use the nvidia app, skip the overlay, install MSI afterburner, and... are you ready? and... replicate this fancurve and settings exactly—no exceptions—works on all my nvidia cards, including the 1050ti!

I saved the Libre Hardware monitor, which displayed a much higher temperature than the Fan Control reading. It seems the GPU core is causing the spike. I’ll increase the fan speed now. Appreciate the quick response!
