Hey there, I recently installed my new PC on an Asus B550-F Gaming motherboard and have been facing some problems with the Ethernet controller. The LED on the back of the board keeps blinking or flashing, and the PC seems to stay connected to the internet even when it's powered down or asleep. I've also noticed minimal data transfer on my router when the PC is off, which is concerning. Additionally, I don’t have access to the power management settings for the Ethernet controller. Starting from now on, it displays an error in device events that changes based on the driver version.
I’ve tried a lot of things: updated BIOS, disabled wake-on-lan in BIOS, downloaded the latest drivers, used older versions, reinstalled the device in Device Manager, tested all Asus driver options and motherboard controls, ran every update from Windows, attempted registry tweaks to adjust power settings, and checked all router configurations.
One thing that resolved the issue was turning on ErP Ready in BIOS. With that enabled, the LED on the Ethernet port doesn’t flash when the PC is off, and the PC isn’t showing up on the router. However, my PC still takes a long time to power on after pressing the power button, and my peripherals don’t shut down properly—my mouse stays on even when powered off. The wireless headset dongle also became unstable and lost its settings.
Despite these problems, ErP Ready still allows the PC to connect to the network while sleeping. I’ve been in discussions with Asus support for about a month, but it’s becoming increasingly frustrating. They seem confident their product is perfect, yet something clearly isn’t working. I’d really prefer not to reinstall Windows, but I might have to do it if it’s the only option. I’m thinking about getting a different motherboard if this continues. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
