I don't know for sure, but both the R9 280 and A10-6790K should be able to handle SC. The main concern is the PCIe slot compatibility and power delivery, which both models support. Just confirm your motherboard's PCIe version and power requirements.

The CPU side of the APU is quite capable, handling demanding tasks efficiently.

I understand the GPU is working well, and turning off the iGPU will reduce heat. Here are the CPU details: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6819113356 For PCPartPicker: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/amd-cpu-ad679kwohlbox Note: I've noticed on some benchmark sites my CPU is three times more than what's needed for SC, but only about 65% of the recommended amount.

Recommended specifications are still uncertain. The discussion is ongoing, and it's premature to determine the exact hardware requirements for the game, even though we understand it will demand significant CPU and GPU power.

I struggled with two configurations in CF, achieving around 60% performance on high settings. You have a stronger CPU than me, which is a factor. If you still own your ITX PC, you could inspect it, but I sold it and I’m not eager to open up my current machine for a GPU swap just to test.

My Athlon X3 450 had some issues and I managed only 20-30fps, but thanks to an extra core it could reach around 30fps. Arena Commander is quite CPU-intensive right now, so it’s using all eight cores for the 8350, while the remaining two cores often stay idle in most other games—results are unpredictable.

I use an R9 270X with an FX8320, and I experience smooth performance even at the lowest settings.
