It really varies, but you can run Linux without a terminal if you prefer, or you can master it using bash guides that work on macOS too.

@Brennan_Price Same point. One factor keeping me tied to Windows is this—I believe it's my own preference. It doesn’t bring the same satisfaction as before; Windows feels less enjoyable now. @Ithanul You might be referring to https://alternativeto.net/software/affinity-designer/, thanks for sharing. I discovered compatible alternatives like Gravit Designer and Akira on Linux. @Chunchunmaru Remembered a bit of bash coding from earlier, maybe I’ll revisit it someday.

I've tried every popular distribution. Ubuntu offers the smoothest user interface.

Thank you all for your valuable input on this subject. I enjoyed the forum and the supportive community. Gravit Designer resembles Affinity, though it offers a "Pro" version as a subscription at $100 per year—cheaper than Adobe, but still a recurring fee. I’m likely to concentrate on using Pop!_Os and Ubuntu. Once I master it, and possibly soon I might develop my own Linux-based design tool.

Avoid manual installation on Linux. Doing so often causes issues and can damage your system. Stick to using the repositories.
