Your recent results in League of Legends and Valorant weren't great.
I've been playing LoL and VALORANT a lot recently. My FPS seems low on my PC, especially compared to others who play at 300 FPS with the same setup. I noticed a friend on a laptop achieving around 600 FPS, while I'm only getting about 150. In custom games we tested, FPS drops significantly later in the match, even with intense action. I reinstalled Windows and did a fresh reset, but it didn't help. My CPU and GPU usage stays under 40%, though I use shadow play. Other games like Resident Evil Village, PUBG, Dead by Daylight, and Apex Legends don’t have this issue, but Minecraft does. I usually get around 140 FPS in Minecraft, but people on YouTube seem to be getting higher with great shaders. I don’t need high FPS for Minecraft, as I only play it occasionally with friends. My PC specs are: Ryzen 7 3800X, 4.1GHz (cooled), MSI Tomahawk B550, RTX 3080, 32GB RAM, HyperX 32GB 3200MHz power supply, 80 PLUS platinum, running Windows 11 Pro 10.0.22000 Build 22000. Anyone else facing this problem and have any tips? Your help would be greatly appreciated!
Settings are at 100%, focusing on the exact refresh rate. Your monitor's refresh rate is crucial—aim for hitting it at the desired FPS, not just 600.
What adjustments should I make? I have a 2k 240Hz monitor and understand I can turn on G-Sync. These specifications can handle games at a minimum of 240fps, though some exceptions exist. Most of what I play should run smoothly at 240hz on 1080p. I’ve used it in Vegas, worked with Photoshop for 3D games, and other programs—never faced issues except during gaming.
The in-game configurations. It explains why comparing your FPS to others is largely meaningless unless you replicate their exact settings, including your Windows power plan, NVIDIA control panel Performance mode, and matching CPU and GPU clock speeds.
I don’t want to align with anyone; I just want to enjoy my games at least 240fps or more. Yet my PC seems reluctant to work with me. I thought a fresh reset would boost the frame rate, but it didn’t help.
