Yesterday I purchased the Dell G7 laptop equipped with an RTX 2060 6 GB DDRM and an Intel I7-9750H processor. After setting it up, I removed McAfee and installed HWmoniter. Suddenly, my fans became very loud. They stopped for about a minute before restarting unexpectedly. I checked the temperatures and saw that my CPU reached a maximum of 91°C. That was shocking. I wondered if running a tough game would reveal more about the machine’s performance. I installed GTA V and noticed its cursor movement wasn’t smooth. I adjusted the game settings to the lowest level, restarted the application, and everything seemed normal in the settings. I tweaked a few parameters, ran a few benchmarks, minimized the game, monitored CPU temperatures, and the high readings were consistently around 90°C. In fact, even with such high temps, the benchmarks maintained steady 60 FPS with occasional dips into the mid-50s. After closing the game and downloading Cinebench, I performed five consecutive stress tests. The initial temperatures were low in the 90s, but they quickly dropped to the low 80s. My average score came out to 2725 points. I only have about two weeks before returning it, so I’m eager to find out if there are any problems and try to resolve them quickly. This machine has been on my wishlist for a long time because I wanted to afford it. Losing it would be a real loss.
