On Black Friday I purchased several parts for my new PC to match what I had been preparing. I got an Asus TUF Gaming X670e-Plus Wi-Fi, 32 GB Corsair DDR5-6000, Ryzen 5-7600X and more. Right away I faced some memory problems—it didn’t function at 6000 MHz without adjusting the 30-600 second delay settings. At 4800 MHz it worked fine, but I hadn’t paid for that speed. Eventually I returned the faulty RAM to Corsair, who replaced it after a month. Once it was back in place, everything ran smoothly until my design software reported only 16 GB available and suggested at least 32 GB. That seemed strange since I often used more than that. I checked the slots and confirmed the AuraSync modules were functioning properly. Running CPUID showed just one module was reading. I tried opening the case, pressing the lever back, and the memory fell out. I contacted Asus, who advised either sending it back for $200 or replacing it for $300 if it wasn’t fixable. I considered using hot glue to reattach it, but realized I couldn’t do that again. I thought about asking the forum for help.

The RAM stays securely fastened even without it. I've experienced a broken clip before, but there were no problems. The slot is snug enough to keep the RAM in place regardless of orientation.

Verify the DIMM is properly placed after relocating your PC, it should work fine. The slots securely hold the DIMMs. If needed, you can reinsert it using a small amount of super glue for extra security. (First remove the memory from the slot, then gently apply a tiny bit to the damaged area on the motherboard using a toothpick or similar tool, and reinsert it.)
