The motherboard compatibility page confirms support for RAM sticks up to 3200Mhz. Yes, it works very well. https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B550-GAM...upport#mem
I already have the part number for my RAM and checked the available options, but they aren't listed. I'm just looking to confirm with someone who has experience if the RAM can be overclocked for me, especially since I don't want it stuck at the default speed of 2400.
Just because it isn't listed doesn't mean it won't function. There are thousands of DDR4 kits available, so not everything gets tested. Many of the RAM I've used in projects—over 100 builds—didn't appear on the QVL list yet, but they still worked. The likelihood that your RAM will function is strong. However, I can't ensure a 100% success rate.
I don't need to stress too much about it. Just avoid shouting at me if it doesn't work—I can't promise a 100% success rate. However, there are plenty of 3200Mhz kits available for that board and 3000Mhz should be fine. Using two sticks is better than four.
It's unlikely to encounter someone with the precise same setup, but since I've dealt with similar issues, I recommend confirming the RAM is in the QVL and ensuring there are noticeable differences between the RAM types. This significantly boosts the odds of a stable overclock from the start.
Recall many questionable bios/mobiles operate at 2933MHz rather than 3000, just for some reason. It's not a big change, but useful to know if 3000 fails...
