It might be unexpected, but in Fallout 4 my performance numbers from this discussion are significantly lower than anticipated. My previous 5600X with a weaker RAM setup is struggling more here. I'm wondering if this is just a one-time issue. I plan to test TimeSpy soon to confirm the results.
I receive around 65c in Fallout 4, with demanding titles reaching up to 75c max. During rendering I've achieved 78c before. Your profile includes the latest PC specs if you want to check.
It doesn’t seem like it’s that low. The gap between a 5600x and 5800x isn’t noticeable in games. What are your settings? @GuiltySpark_ Are you missing something or does the other player expect more power without any real boost? It looks like PBO isn’t active at those speeds either. I’m tagging you since I don’t have a 5800x anymore and can’t test the numbers.
Seems okay at first glance. My current CPU score is 11662. I’m pretty sure my chip isn’t performing well, and with all the custom settings I’ve applied, I’m giving up. Time to go for AM5!
I understand you didn't tag me, but I'm here to discuss this. 5600X, 5800X and 5900X should all yield approximately an 11K CPU score. Since the benchmark only supports 10 threads, the final rating mainly depends on GPU performance. He might enjoy overclocking the GPU for a smoother experience, though he won't address the FallOut4 problem. Consider uninstalling "GeForce Experience" if you have it installed.
I don't own GeForce experience. It's running PBO smoothly. The game cracked quickly at 14k. CPU score over 12k, GPU a bit lower but better Core OC. Their chips run faster on average despite max clocks around 5ghz. https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/76098467? In short, Fallout 4 seems decent for its price. Cinebench backs the CPU gains but shows slower single-core speed. Multithreads range from 5987 to 6066. SC drops from 638 to 618. I disabled background services like VPN, MSI AB, Steam and got a score of 6165, which matches reviews more closely. SC 629.
