Your power source is not functioning?
The PC stopped working mid-game and didn’t power back on. The PSU was overheating, which likely triggered its protection. I plan to replace it tomorrow, but I’m unsure if the issue is just the PSU or possibly the motherboard since I can’t test it directly.
The only sure way is swapping the power supply unit. We don’t have enough information—it could involve several factors or a series of events. Could you tell me what your current PSU is and what you intend to use in its place?
The SONIC S12II 520W is nearly six years old. I’m not sure what to purchase yet—I’ll check the closest store. Likely, the Coolermaster MWE white or bronze 550 would fit since I have a limited budget and plan to upgrade other parts too. I’ve reviewed a PSU tier list and ordered an A650BN MSI at a good price. My current specs are Ryzen 1600 RX 580, so I might consider upgrading to something like the 3600/6600 XT if I find a decent used deal.
I have already purchased a new replacement, but I’ll still attempt it. Can a screwdriver be useful?
