I purchased a refurbished Google Pixel 7A with 8 GB of RAM and used an app named DevCheck to check the battery status. I observed that it was consuming about 5 GB of RAM while idle. No apps are open at the moment. Is this typical? Please share any photos you have, and let me know if you need further details.

Yes. Android will keep stuff in memory as much a possible, since it needs less battery than reloading things from storage. Unless you can't open apps because you run or if memory, nothing to worry about.

It's typical to run lighter on your device by avoiding resource-heavy applications. Saving RAM is beneficial. These optimization tools can sometimes be misleading or inefficient. If you're unlucky, they might drain performance further. I also turn off my phone each night for safety—though it may not make a big difference.

Avoid wasting unused memory by allowing Android to handle it as needed.
