Hello everyone! I'm working on fixing streaming issues with my setup. My system includes a Corsair CX650M power supply, an Asus Z-170A motherboard, Intel i770K CPU, and an EVGA GTX 1070 that's superclocked. I have about 8-9 Mbps upload speed and am directly connected to the router. For streaming, I mainly play Rainbow Six Siege and PUBG, but I often drop from 110 FPS to a very unstable 60 FPS. I've tried different resolutions—1080p, 720p, 30, and 60 FPS—but nothing seems to work. I'm not sure what's causing the problem. Any suggestions?

You have a new notification sinfulfartzilla commented on Good PC can't stream? I use Streamlabs OBS, and here's a picture.

Absolutely, a 7700k isn't ideal for both streaming and gaming. These tasks usually need 2-4 cores, which means your processor is handling the workload poorly. It’s better to opt for a Ryzen 1700 or 2700(x) with eight cores and sixteen threads—four for streaming and four for gaming—to get optimal performance.

Adjust your CPU preset to veryfast and configure the keyframe interval to auto. It appears to resolve the issues you faced, especially since your 2600k is still functional after several years.

It's noted that the 7700K isn't ideal for streaming due to its limited core count. Additionally, the 8GB of RAM used during playback and streaming will be consumed rapidly.

Just because you manage it doesn't guarantee a smooth or pleasant experience. 4 Core CPUs often struggle with streaming unless you adjust OBS settings and game configurations carefully—most users won't bother. Quick, fast, and extremely fast choices usually cause frame drops, stream problems, and a laggy view. You might not even notice while playing, but it becomes clear to your audience.

I quickly missed the 8GB RAM. The 7700k supports 8 threads and should work fine. From my experience streaming several events, adjusting the encoder settings appears to reduce dropped frames significantly.
