I recently enhanced my CPU, memory, and RAM to run Battlefield 1. Despite playing at low 1080p with basic settings, I’m still struggling to achieve stable frames. Here are my details: CPU – i5 7500, Cooler – Cooler Master 212 EVO, GPU – GTX 960 (2GB), RAM – HyperX Savage 2666 MHz (clocked at 2400 due to motherboard). I also upgraded to an 8GB system with Gigabyte B250 DS3H, WD Blue 1 TB HDD, and Evga 500B PSU. I use one 1080p monitor and another 1600p side by side, mostly for desktop view. I need advice on upgrades or adjustments to reach at least 60 FPS. Also, my Windows copy stopped activating after the hardware change—could that be related? Thank you for your help.

The GPU activity isn’t reflected in your afterburner images, which is unusual. It could be due to memory usage rather than your 2GB VRAM, though that’s possible. Consider adjusting the frame rate limiter to 60 for better performance.

BF1 thrives on RAM and VRAM for every meal. It matches your specs closely, featuring an SSD, a 1060 with 6GB storage and 16GB of 3000MHz RAM. Performance is seamless during full MP matches at ultra speed. Non-activated windows won't hold up.

You might also check the RAM consumption, good idea @pzspah. With my 8GB card, I rarely bother to monitor it myself.

From your screenshots it looks like you have just 4GB of RAM, which might cause problems even if it isn’t fully used yet. The VRAM could also be experiencing similar issues.

The CPU usage and GPU stats are being tracked now. The i5 might be sufficient depending on your workload.

I have an i5, but I'm using a 6600. Your GPU isn't getting half the power it needs, which is an issue.

Initially I believed it was thermal throttling, so I began tracking temperatures, but it appears that isn't the problem. It might be worth trying to overclock the GPU.

BF1 is notorious for poor performance with i5 processors. This could be your issue. Especially since the gpu isn't being utilized fully, because it's probably waiting on processes from the cpu.
