Your PC is experiencing performance issues while playing Fallout 4 on even medium settings. It frequently drops to around 30 frames per second, especially when there are many enemies or heavy movement. Your system specs include a GTX 970, Intel i5 4670K, and 8GB of HyperX RAM. Although it should handle the game well, lag still occurs during intense moments.

Ensure maximum performance with a steady 60. Consider restarting your PC or checking if the CPU is overheating.

There are recommended programs for tracking this. They should remain below a certain temperature.

It's just the way things work. My setup includes an i5 3570k at 4.2 and a 980ti with 1435 MHz. At 1080p I experience drops to high 30s in Diamond City. A driver update might help, but I'm skeptical. Unfortunately, i7s seem to gain around 20 fps over i5s.

The speed of your DDR3 RAM is around 2133 MHz. Fallout 4 does indeed gain performance from quicker RAM and faster storage solutions.

You can utilize a GPU that supports gigabytes OC, and you also have their card. For CPU monitoring, Realtemp tracks usage and temperatures.
