Hey buddy, need some help? He's in trouble and things are acting weird on his computer all the time. He only loses internet when he uses his PC; other stuff still works fine. Every once in a while his screen goes blank or freezes so hard that even starting Windows won't work properly. We're looking at an Intel i9-10900k, a roG Strix Z490-E gaming board, an radeon 9700xt graphics card, windows 11 installed, and he has a lot of RAM (18GB or 22GB sticks, probably two 9s). He also uses a Corsair 360h liquid cooling kit.

I don't know much about his stuff but I do know his RAM is really bad haha. Maybe it's the timing on the RAM or maybe the thermal paste isn't sticking right? If you can get him to fix this, that would be awesome. He'll pay whatever it takes just to get it working again. Thanks for your thoughts!

He's been losing his internet connection only on his computer while all other stuff stays online. Did you say if the problems were happening with either Ethernet or WiFi? Have you tried taking off and putting back your network card drivers? What BIOS version do you have for that motherboard? And what brand is your power supply unit, Thermaltake 850W? I think "G" means Gold efficiency but what model exactly does it have? Also how old is this power supply?

Hi, the "g" at the start of 850 is just a typo and should actually be a "w" for wattage. This machine has a power rating of 850 watts and uses a Gold rated PSU. I bought this power supply in 2020. Right now I'm talking to him, but he never updated his BIOS. So that part is on me since it should have been done before.

Helping my friend out. He's having trouble with his computer. At random times, his internet stops working on just that one PC, while everything else in the house stays online. His computer freezes randomly too. When he tries to start Windows from there, it works fine, but whatever is running gets completely stopped. His setup includes: Intel i9-10900k on a ROG Strix Z490-E Gaming motherboard with an AMD Radeon 9700XT card, running Windows 11, paired with RAM that's 16GB to 22GB (the model is D4), a 3600Hz Corsair 360h CPU cooler, and a RAM-Turmalake 850W gold power supply. He says the new RAM he used might be the problem because it's off-brand, or maybe his timings are wrong. Losing internet on only his computer and no other devices is totally strange to me too. I'm wondering if updating the BIOS could help? Any advice would be super helpful! Thanks so much.

Don't start more than one conversation at a time, or you might get too many brainworms from it.

I thought I didn't put in the right numbers on the first one because it got too few replies. Sorry

Does malware hide on my computer? Is my hard drive really full? Did I run a memory check? How many tabs am I opening at once?
