Tell your PC it's being a bad neighbor and you're hoping for some rest. ;P Should you have turned off WoL in the BIOS settings?

Consider using Malwarebytes to scan your system. I experienced a virus once that could activate my computer during the night.

Occasionally, gadgets such as USB hubs and various accessories can trigger the device to activate. It’s best to turn off their wake capabilities through the Device Manager if previous solutions didn’t help.

I would perform a malware byte analysis, antivirus check, and review your system processes to confirm no unusual activity is running. I’ve heard about computers being exploited for cryptocurrency mining after downloading malware from specific sites. Good luck!

That's a solid concept, though it comes with significant challenges.

I understand, it seems like someone might be trying to get a quick profit.

To check the last wake event, launch the Command Prompt with admin privileges and run powercfg /lastwake. This will identify the software or device that triggered the last shutdown.

I left WoL enabled in the BIOS since I didn’t disable it previously. I’m testing it now. I didn’t think about a virus because it appeared after I installed a Windows update, so I thought a setting might have been reset, but I’m not worried and will run a scan. I used powercfg /lastwake while disabling wake on LAN and timers. The output shows Wake History Count -1 and Wake Source Count - 0.

Wake on LAN was already turned off in the BIOS. I performed a deeper virus scan this evening and found nothing. I plan to run a more detailed malware check tonight. I also disabled Fast Startup, Sleep, and Hibernate settings—though I still chose Shutdown. It might help a bit, but I’m not sure. I’m running out of options.
