Your OptiPlex 9020 isn't starting from the 860 EVO after switching the drive to GPT and booting in UEFI.
You experienced only one successful boot while other attempts displayed the same non-bootable message. Despite having a WD My Passport USB drive that worked, it also used UEFI. Possible reasons could include hardware issues, incorrect BIOS settings, or a faulty drive.
You need to reinstall Windows. Your disk remains in legacy mode and it seems you can't boot from UEFI.
Existing installations allow reverting to legacy mode. For files requiring UEFI, switch back to legacy, create a backup, then upgrade to UEFI and perform a fresh installation.
I utilized Macrium Reflect, so the files are already saved on the WD Passport. I’ll simply transfer them to the 860 EVO after reinstalling.
You probably don’t need to worry about moving files manually once it’s installed. Just paste the files into the right places after setup.
