What could possibly be the reason? (Sorry, it might sound a bit blunt, but I'm not trying to be rude.)
They mentioned it's related to the display driver. Ofc Linux and macOS use different drivers, which can lead to problems when trying to make screens appear identical. However, this seems rare in recent updates. My situation has been around a few years ago.
