CPU model: Ryzen 7 7700X board: Gigabyte b650 Aorus Elite AX RAM: g.skill 32G 2x D60% D6C36 OS: Windows 10 on a USB drive This could be my first troubleshooting, but the main problem is the "DRAM" indicator lighting up. The system powers on and receives power since I’m getting power to my phone. I obtained the system and planned to wait for the GPU, but now I’m questioning whether a GPU is necessary and if these new Ryzen 7 chips are designed without one. I’ve already replaced the RAM once and submitted an RMA for the board, which said it was fine.

The Ryzen 7000 CPUs come with a basic integrated GPU, which is sufficient for diagnostics. It seems like a RAM issue might be the cause—have you tested using a single memory stick? Also, confirm whether the components you mentioned match the specifications on your motherboard’s compatibility list.

How long are you waiting on the first POST with RAM? Ryzen 7000 takes a really long first post while it does a lot of memory training. Think Big server level POST.

Are your BIOS settings current? Avoid starting the system with a connected phone. Access BIOS and check if the Windows bootloader appears in your boot options. If possible, install one additional RAM stick in a different slot and see if it boots successfully.

It's accurate too. Switching RAM can take more than five minutes each time.

I should still attempt to restart it if necessary. I was only connecting my phone to verify it received power, but the screen remains blank. I've tried that already, so I plan to try again next time and give it a short break of about five minutes since I'm unsure how long I waited before.

I attempted to let it sit but decided to power it down. After around 30 minutes, everything remained consistent with prior observations, and the DRAM indicator stayed lit continuously even after changing the slots.

Have you cleared the CMOS yet? Do you have a RAM training feature?
