So I got a new Corsair RM750e power supply to install into my computer so I can upgrade my graphics card. However, when I try to install it, my LED lights turn on for a second then turn off. When I reinstall my old power supply, everything works perfectly fine. I’ve tested the power supply with the paper clip test and it seems to work. Any idea what I could be doing wrong? My motherboard is a Prime B550-Plus. *This is also my second power supply that I’ve ordered. Ran into the same issues as the first one.

RMA might be faulty, so consider a better or more affordable 850W model with a 10-year warranty, such as the A850GL or GF1/3, which avoid fan noise problems.

I don't need to. Even if I tried, my old power supply wasn't modular. The new one is modular but includes fresh cables I've been using before.

You likely have multiple CPU connectors on the PSU side, have you tested them (using different cables too)? Can cables be mismatched? Edited January 1, 2025 by leclod

I considered the possibility of the CPU cables, but both marked cables worked without any changes.

Never forget how easily you can fall into bad luck, two is really terrible but three would be completely out of the question, and sometimes things just don’t go your way.
