Your new PC isn’t installing Windows yet.
Hi everyone, I've tested various drives and both Windows 10 and 11, but neither one has been reliable on my PC. Even when I connected a working drive from another computer, it still showed the "Windows didn't load properly" error. My system is brand new, so I went to Gigabyte's app center to install drivers. Once I got into an installation, it worked fine, but when I downloaded GeForce Experience and installed the graphics driver, the PC crashed again. I suspect the power supply unit might be the issue, even though my PSU is 650W and the PC Part picker said it should be okay. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Specs: CPU Ryzen 5 5600X, Cooler Thermalright Assassin, Motherboard Gigabyte B450 AORUS Elite V2, RAM Corsair 32GB 3600, GPU GIGABYTE Windforce OC RTX 3060, PSU Corsair RM650e.
Is there anything obvious I might be missing? Thanks in advance.
I used a fresh installation media from Microsoft's website on a USB flash drive. Cleared the CMOS, checked the BIOS settings, and created a local account before connecting to the internet. This approach prevents unnecessary background activities during setup. For drivers, it's best to source them directly from the manufacturer—like Realtek for Ethernet and AMD for chipset drivers. Everything else should work as intended by default.
I performed a fresh setup using the media creation tool. CMOS was cleared several times, though conflicting advice suggested turning off CMS or enabling UEFI. My PC crashed during installation and I can't restart into the Windows setup. The app centre mentioned drivers are important for better boot chances. I skipped extra steps to get into the desktop and begin driver installation.
Typically, the operating system can launch the desktop without any installation. Adding extra features is probably not helpful.
Currently it's usually recommended to use UEFI, but apparently CMS can also function... so it doesn't seem like the problem is with you.
