Your new PC is experiencing frequent freezes.
I assembled a computer that frequently freezes. It needs manual restarts, and even when powered on without stress, it stalls again. I reinstalled the operating system. I ran virus scans, updated all drivers and BIOS, but the issue persists. The hardware specs are I912000k Zotac 3080ti Trinity OEM with 12GB and 68GB SSDs, DDR5 RAM, MSI Z690 motherboard, 100W PSU, and an open-loop cooling system. I’ve tried everything possible and still can’t resolve it.
There might be several causes for the problems on a newly built computer. I start by verifying if the cooler on the CPU block was installed properly. Some makers leave a label on the block that can lead to thermal problems like freezing or sudden shutdowns. If this is your first build, you should probably purchase thermal paste before proceeding. Remove the cooler, wipe away any existing paste, and reapply it to the block. If it’s a custom PC you assembled yourself, run a hardware diagnostic to check for thermal issues and return the unit for repair. Of course, with open-loop cooling, I hope this is not too late.
I constructed it carefully, ensuring every part was correctly aligned and the thermal paste was adequate. All readings have stayed consistently low.
I've tested each one separately and even used a friend's DDR5 stick as a reference. All froze.
Consider using a different storage device. If you have extra space, try installing Windows on a flash drive. Check its stability—if it works smoothly, the issue might be unrelated to the OS itself, possibly a hidden compatibility problem.
