About two weeks ago, my mouse began showing small issues. While playing modded Minecraft, I occasionally lost control of it—like letting go of the mouse button. I had to re-press it to keep breaking blocks. Later, browsing the web or clicking things would sometimes fail entirely, requiring me to try again. Recently, my mouse started behaving oddly, holding down the LMB button on its own. It would repeatedly click or hold for short periods without releasing. I attempted fixes by resetting it, but it persisted. Eventually, I shut down the computer and tried to reinstall the mouse drivers. After a while, everything worked again. It seems the problem was persistent and stubborn. I’m still puzzled about what’s causing it. What do you think is going on?

Do you have a different mouse to test? Usually when mice switch fail, they stop working completely, but there are other reasons it might not work. The issue could be resolved. I think your mouse might be the problem.

Likely a faulty mouse. I've experienced switches malfunctioning in various ways. They don't click properly, are difficult to press, click too often, or behave erratically.

my laptop had an eco mode active and it would turn off the USB ports even though the device was still powered on and connected. probably the mouse button was the issue.
