You're interested in the Samsung 980 PRO SSD with a heatsink for an ROG Strix B550-F gaming PC. Let's check compatibility and installation tips. The B550-F supports PCIe Gen 4 NVMe drives, so the SSD should work. However, ensure your motherboard has the necessary PCIe slot and that the heatsink is compatible with your system. For installation, follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully and consider using proper tools to avoid damage. If you need further help, reach out to Samsung support or a qualified technician.

Yes, the motherboard is suitable. It also relies on your CPU; Zen 2 and Zen 3 require PCIE4.0 support.

The port linked straight to the CPU is compatible with Gen 4. (If your CPU is Gen 4 capable, it will work.) The port connected to the chipset is limited to Gen 3. https://rog.asus.com/us/motherboards/rog...odel/spec/ A Gen 4 SSD can function in a Gen 3 slot, operating at Gen 3 performance levels.
