I'm having trouble getting my PC to show a display when I try to access BIOS or reset options. The monitor says "No Display Port" and the HDMI doesn't work either. When I press the restart button, it restarts normally and the screen appears again. I can't reach my BIOS settings or use advanced repair tools. My system runs UEFI, uses a display cable connected to the GPU port, but it only works with the Walton TV via its HDMI 2.1 cable. I've tried troubleshooting online, but no help found.
My specs are:
- CPU: Intel 13th Gen Core i9 13900K Raptor Lake
- Motherboard: MSI Z790-P with DDR5 13th Gen
- RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 DDR5 6000MHz (32GB)
- SSD: Samsung 980 PCIe 3.0 M.2 2TB
- HDD: Toshiba P300 2TB 5400RPM
- GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 4090 GAMING TRIO 24GB GDDR6X
- PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1000W
- Monitor: ASUS TUF Gaming VG28UQL1A HDMI 2.1
- Case: Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL ROG tower (white)
- Cooler: Lian Li UNI FAN AL120-3W & UNI FAN SL-INFINITY triple pack
- Keyboard: K100 RGB Optical-Mechanical
- Mouse: Razer Viper Ultimate with RGB and dock
- Headphones: HyperX Cloud II 7.1 surround sound
I need advice on how to fix this issue.
A few GPUs (maybe linked to motherboard or BIOS) just send the BIOS to a particular port, like HDMI. I don’t understand the reason. On one machine it works fine with BIOS output to DP, but after flashing the BIOS the fTPM reset screen shows up only on HDMI.
Ensure the HDMI connection functions for your TV's BIOS display. The same setup on your monitor—using HDMI as the input instead of DP—should also display it correctly.
