Truly nothing changed. Identical setup, identical results. Last week Minecraft ran smoothly at 80fps (maximum settings plus BSL shaders). Now it barely hits 40 on the same map with the same configuration. I experience the same performance today as yesterday on a 32-unit distance. Regardless of what I do, my frame rate is three times lower than it was previously. Why? (3800X with 8GB RAM at 3600MHz). For reference, this would be the performance I expect in Cyberpunk 2077 when all features are enabled and ray tracing is active (without DLSS). No other game is struggling—just me.
When I face issues with Minecraft, I gather essential files from my .minecraft directory—resource packs, shaders, world saves, etc.—then remove and reinstall the game. It seems the game is quite sensitive. You might want to try this approach, but be careful not to delete anything important beforehand. Edit: A different FPS mod could have been a great improvement in that version, though only relevant for older releases.
The process functioned correctly. Reinstalling restored performance consistently.
It's actually maintaining 30 frames per second for me, but when I adjust my crosshair position it drops to around 5 fps. Probably not the best setup for smooth gameplay.
