I recently replaced my motherboard and CPU, and after everything was working, I noticed Windows picking up both my built-in mic and headset, yet it wasn’t detecting any audio. I updated the drivers, checked the BIOS, used the troubleshooter, and even removed both devices to see if that would help. I also verified the connections on the motherboard. Despite trying everything, I’m still struggling and would really appreciate any guidance from online communities.

Are the gadgets properly inserted into the correct sockets or adapters?

The headset has no other ports available, and the microphone uses a USB connection. I tested them individually but had no success.

This might indicate a software conflict, often related to antivirus programs. Typically, built-in protections can restrict access unless you manually activate them.

an adapter... connect your TRS mic to a TRRS adapter. Check your 3.5mm jack on the mic and headset—they likely have only one ring each. You’ll need a device with two rings if it supports both audio and microphone. Or, if your mic/headset uses a single jack, it’s probably a TRRS port. Tip: use the opposite adapter.

Have you downloaded the USB drivers for the microphone? You can find them on your motherboard website.

Another option could be a XLR mic or a condenser mic.

USB mic and headset function properly. It seems the issue lies with something physical inside.
