This appears to be typical behavior on Windows 10, especially with background processes and active browser tabs. Task Manager won't accurately show memory usage due to the system's caching mechanisms. For a quick check, you can close your browser and observe the RAM changes.

It's interesting it still performs well with 8GB. On my secondary system, when no games are running, I'm using 19.6/31.9 with committed at 34.5/45.4GB (about 11GB in cache).

Start by checking the task manager to identify memory usage. You can either lower the number of processes running or increase RAM. If you suspect a virus, Windows includes a built-in scanner; Malwarebytes is free and can help confirm. From my experience, 8 gigabytes isn’t sufficient today unless you’re very old and use minimal software. For gaming, I recommend at least 16 gigabytes now.
