Has anyone encountered this problem before? It seems to be a one-off issue with version 1.17 for me. Even on the standard build, my system can't maintain a stable 144fps. Back in 1.16.5 it ran smoothly at about 1200fps, but now it's lagging. The game isn't making the most of my hardware. When I enable Sildur's Vibrant Shaders at high settings, the GPU usage hits 45%, CPU is only 7%, and RAM usage jumps to 8GB of the 32GB available. I'm using 10GB out of the total. Frames vary from 100 to 120, and I really want a consistent 144fps at 1080p. What's happening? I've never seen a game underperform this way—it looks like it's not utilizing my computer effectively. Full specs: Core i9-10900K, 32GB DDR4-3600, GeForce GTX 980 Ti, ASRock B460M, Steel Legend.

The game's issue is probably the cause, not your device. Did you look up any additional details about the updated main character version in FPS?

Switching back to 1.16 typically restores the original settings, so it should return to 1200 FPS. However, if you're seeing a different frame rate, it might be stuck at 120 on all versions due to other configurations.

With shaders enabled, performance is about 230fps; without them it drops to around 1,600 frames per second.

In version 1.17 the Java version was updated from 8 to JDK 16. This might be leading to problems. The launcher should let you choose Java 8.

You can choose the Java version settings directly within the launcher interface, not just through the "Settings" menu.
