i finally narrowed down the issue. so in my office theres a wall port, both of its cables go to my room, but they both go to different walls. the one that goes to my pc isnt working. the one that goes to my xbox is. so i have a extra long ethernet cable going from my xbox wall to my pc. and with the setting that you told me about, im at gigabit speed over LAN. another niche issue in the books.
It's good to hear it's functioning. Just a budget-friendly switch will let you link the Xbox and PC simultaneously.
