The system allows users to avoid paying for Windows and manage their environment largely on their own. It also criticizes the NSA for pressuring Microsoft to share all data, highlighting how monopolies are problematic—just like the banana crop.

It’s quite extensive on Azure, Microsoft’s cloud service. I’m not sure what people rely on it for—it’s a massive topic. Many organizations are moving away from MS SBS because they faced issues with it. Canonical is promoting Ubuntu for displays, like the buses in my city that show info and ads; all of them use Ubuntu. I’m aware of this because I’ve seen error messages on faulty hardware. In some New Zealand McDonald’s locations, menus and screens run Ubuntu, and I’ve noticed error alerts when connectivity drops. The reason I believe Ubuntu is preferred over other operating systems is its free status and the long-term support Canonical provides.

The legal side is simpler. Ubuntu and Linux generally give you complete freedom to do whatever you wish. You can construct a nuclear submarine, tweak it, and sell it as Lindoze—deploy it on one server or three million. This isn’t possible with the other OS... Canonical provides strong support both for free and paid users. Unpaid support means quick updates and security patches directly from the main repository. The alternative OS doesn’t offer the same level of value; they provide tools like LXD and snaps for free, but their updates are slow and inefficient. In business terms, these options are ideal: cost-free, full autonomy, reliable performance, and powerful resources.

Numerous companies rely on Linux in the server sector. It appears to command roughly 33% of the market for server operating systems. Linux offers strong security, extensive customization options, and affordable pricing for businesses.
