I own a brand new Asus ROG laptop. The screen gets darker and the battery icon on my taskbar says charging, but then it turns off. Even after I changed batteries, this happens again. My power supply shows 19.3 volts, which seems normal. Someone suggested rolling back my display drivers. There are Intel and NVIDIA options here, though I think NVIDIA is more important, so I did that too and nothing fixed it. The screen dimming keeps happening even if I plug in two other monitors. Removing the external screens didn't stop it either. Sometimes starting an app or a website makes the dimming happen for a few seconds. Right now, no dimming has occurred since I wrote this message; I've been charging my laptop without any dimming issues. But once I plugged it back in, the dimming started happening again earlier. I'm really confused and would appreciate some advice on how to solve this mystery. Thanks!

I just installed a brand-new battery, and now it won't work. But back then, right after I put it in the very beginning, it worked pretty well for a long time. Does this mean it still works fine?

So, this thing stopped working until today. I was using an old battery and it just stayed fine. Today, I left it running on just that single battery. It said I had one hour and ten minutes left. The screen worked perfectly for a while, but then the battery ran out. The screen got dark and Bluetooth kept cutting off. Then I plugged in AC power, but the dimming went on again and charging stopped intermittently. I already bought a new power supply when things started going wrong, but I cancelled it after they fixed themselves. I do have a brand new battery, but it didn't stop the darkening. Again, I used a voltage meter to check my power supply, and its power stayed steady. Also, I tried running the battery test command in Windows (powercfg /batteryreport), but it just came back with an "unexpected error" saying it couldn't find a file. I looked at some help from this site about fixing battery health report errors, but none of those fixes worked either. Any thoughts on where the problem lies? Thanks.
