Msi gv62 8th laptop stopped working suddenly a few days back. I followed the standard troubleshooting steps—disconnected power cable, cleared CMOS, removed battery, pressed power button for 30 seconds, then swapped RAM kits. After reinserting power and battery, I tried removing both RAM sticks one by one. Each time I reset them and tried to boot, it failed. I replaced RAM stick A in slot 1 and got a boot, but then I ordered a second 16GB RAM stick with same speed (2400MHz) to see if it would work. The laptop still wouldn’t start with the new sticks in slots 1 and 2. I updated the BIOS to the latest version I found online, but even then, when checking advanced settings for max memory, it only showed 8GB. Now I’m worried—maybe one RAM slot is permanently damaged. I’m unsure what to do next; I don’t want to risk using just 8GB and have to buy another stick later. Should I change the max memory setting in msconfig to 32GB? Any advice would be appreciated.

In Task Manager it shows both RAM slots, yet after filling them it doesn’t start at all.
