Your laptop is experiencing unexpected shutdowns.
Your HP Omen Transcend 14 is showing signs of overheating issues. After the recent repair, dust accumulation on the fans might be affecting cooling. The random freezes could be caused by thermal throttling or hardware stress from performance mode usage. Restarting helped temporarily, but performance mode still triggers warnings and freezes. Consider cleaning the fans and checking for any loose components.
It seems the cooling system wasn't functioning well. After the repair, it might have been put together incorrectly, or the heat sinks may not be properly connected to the parts. Such overheating issues are valid grounds for warranty claims.
Unfortunately the warranty is no longer valid, but before submitting it again for the warranty, they swapped out the heat sink the first time, then replaced the whole motherboard the second time because I kept seeing frequent black screens, blue screens, and screen freezes accompanied by a loud buzzing sound.
On my HP Victus, the temperatures seem accurate for full load, with CPU around 93°C and GPU at 84°C until I swapped the TIM for PTM7950. After that, cooling improved noticeably by 5-7°C. Powering off from sleep has remained a persistent problem on HP systems, often overlooked as low priority, though it might relate to a BIOS update if available. When experiencing freezes, are you noticing stuttering frames or complete hangs?
It resembles a hanging frame where everything on my computer would stall every few to ten minutes—like music and Minecraft freezing together for a brief moment. I’m worried about turning it into performance mode. Could you tell me how to update the BIOS or check its status?
I haven’t had a chance to fix it yet; one screw won’t come out.
On the HP support site, in your HP account, you'll see "available updates" and BIOS updates should be there if available. Then you download and launch, following the steps provided. DO NOT REMOVE THE POWER SUPPLY PLUG WHILE UPDATING, DO NOT TURN IT OFF. It's a P0 screw, and they use Blue Threadlocker, so they can be stubborn, a bit of downward force while turning usually aids with dislodging the threadlocker. You MAY find that there are hidden screws under the feet, HOPEFULLY yours doesn't.
