I attempted to use a system restore but encountered that issue shown in the attached image. An unusual problem is missing important settings such as the "reset" option, and I can't install updates either. I tried fixing the boot using the command prompt, but it returned an "access denied" message. The initial concern was that I was updating Windows while connected, and the update paused at 30% while another process distracted me. Later, I accidentally turned off the power supply after leaving home, which left the laptop running updates until then. Edited November 1, 2022 by Visionug

Consider reinstalling Windows from a thumb drive carefully. Be aware it may erase all files on the drive. The error you encountered during uninstallation might be causing the issue—double-check your steps.

Hey, even though he's just ten, you're really caring about him. He's in good shape. Let's figure out how to move your data around using the command prompt. First, back up everything you need—maybe files or settings—to a safe spot. Then use commands like `copy` or `move` to transfer it to another drive. After updating Windows, you can reinstall your data by restoring from the backup you created. Let me know if you need step-by-step guidance!

You might try reinstalling Windows without interacting with your files, though I can't confirm it. In the worst scenario, you could remove the drive, connect a mini SATA to USB dock, and purchase EaseUS Recovery software to perform a thorough scan. This should help recover most of your data, but you'll need a separate computer for the process.

Yes, you can use the command prompt to run commands directly.
